Faculty members who are affiliated with the Center for Tropical Agriculture qualify for travel awards. The intention of this program is to encourage the establishment of collaborating research projects and to foster teaching at cooperating institutions in the tropical Americas. Information regarding this competition will be posted at this site early in the spring semester.

Subject: Travel awards for preparation of developmental assistance grant proposals The Center for Tropical Agriculture will provide travel awards to affiliated faculty members who would like to develop proposals for developmental assistance. There is no geographic restriction except that the focus must be tropical agriculture or natural resource management in the tropics. Activities can include but are not restricted to research, capacity building, marketing assistance/development, symposia, etc. These proposals can be directed either to US governmental agencies or to nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). Proposals can be in response to an RFP or they can be unsolicited. It is understood that proposal development would entail travel to agency headquarters in Washington, D.C., New York City or elsewhere. Some foreign travel in order to establish dialog and proposal preparation with collaborators would also be considered. Interested faculty should submit a 2-3 page proposal, which would include the following information:
